Here is the June, 1989 cover of Solid Waste & Power magazine. This was a special issue focusing on industry outlook. It seemed to make sense to design binoculars styled as garbage cans (The idea was suggested to me by my wife Joan, which was a lifesaver as I was having trouble coming up with anything.) I was always pleased when these kinds of ideas would fly with humorless industrialists. You could call these “garbanoculars”.
