Here is the February, 1990 cover of Hydro Review magazine, a special issue on protecting fish. As you can imagine, building dams is a huge disruption for fish populations, especially species that have been migrating through a waterway for millenia. Many people in the business of building dams have been earnestly working to solve these problems – providing fish ladders and other detours – with mixed success. This cover was a favorite of the magazine's publisher, Leslie Eden; she called it their “Field & Stream” cover.
