The Spring 1986 issue of Hydro Review focused on the theme of equipment rehabilitation. Hydroelectric turbines are marvels of precise and durable engineering, and are also quite beautiful. They are subjected to enormous and continuing stress, which eventually makes repairs necessary. Here is a somewhat idealized welder doing just that. We were looking for an image that evoked the feeling of the 1930s, when some of the most ambitious hydroelectric projects were undertaken.
