Thor's Trash Can ~ airbrushed watercolor on paper

Illustration

This was the cover for the inaugural edition of Solid Waste & Power magazine in February, 1987. The magazine addressed the new industry of burning trash to generate electricity, a unique business idea for the current bizarre era. With this cover illustration we were trying to convey the notion that there is potential energy in trash. Someone quipped that the image looked like Thor's garbage can. There is probably some veiled, mythic symbolism in play here.
